You've found the website for the offices of Dr. Joel and Elizabeth Biggers. We offer a full spectrum of primary care medical services in a private and personal setting; treating both acute and chronic medical conditions as well as offering an array of preventative services.
Because we know our patients' time is valuable we see patients by appointment only. Same day and urgent appointments are often available - so please call the office for availability.
Open Enrollment for 2017 Medicare Advantage Plans starts October 15th, 2016 and ends December 7th, 2016
As you may know open enrollment is here. Biggers Family Medicine wants to remind you of this important date and provide a listing of the plans accepted by our office. Medicare Advantage Plans cover all Medicare services. Medicare Advantage Plans may offer extra coverage, like vision, hearing, dental, and/or health and wellness programs. Most include Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D).
Important dates to note:
- October 15th: Open Enrollment starts — During this period you can change your choice of health coverage, and add, drop or change Medicare drug coverage. You can make as many changes as you need during this period
- December 7, 2016: Last day to enroll in or change plans for coverage to start January 1, 2017.
- January 1, 2017: Coverage starts for those who enroll or change plans.
- January 1, 2017 to February 14th, 2017: Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period (MADP). You can switch from your Medicare Advantage Plan (except MSA plan) to Original Medicare. You can only make this coverage change if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan. The MADP occurs every year from January 1 to February 14. If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan you will be able to switch to Original Medicare with or without a stand-alone prescription drug plan. Changes made during this period will become effective the first of the following month.

When is the ACA Open Enrollment Period?
The affordable care act open enrollment period is November 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017
Health and drug plans make changes each year—things like cost, coverage, and what providers and pharmacies are in their networks. November 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017 is when all people seeking coverage within the ACA can change their health plans and prescription drug coverage for the following year to better meet their needs.
